HipVoice is a service that allows for Push-To-Talk between Windows Mobile, Windows Smartphone, Windows Desktop, LiMo and BlackBerry devices. HipVoice is also finishing up work on Android, Brew and the iPhone.

CNBC is running an article claiming Sprint has the exclusive on the Palm Pre through 2009. Sprint shares were up on the news.
"Sprint Nextel has exclusive U.S. rights to sell Palm's hotly anticipated Pre phone through the end of 2009, a person familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

Southwest Airlines is testing their own in-flight Wi-Fi service, based on a satellite connection from Row 44. They began the test this week using one of their planes, with more planes coming soon. While they're test the service they are offering the service for free.

Palm has introduced the new Palm Pre. The Palm Pre runs its own WebOS operating system and will run on the Sprint network sometime in the first part of 2009. No pricing info is available yet.
The Palm Pre is a touchscreen handset with a 3.1-inch 320 x 480 multitouch display. It has a rollerball and a touch screen. A slide out full QWERTY keyboard is available as well. If you flip the phone on its side, it gives you widescreen view via its accelerometer.

The economy is hitting everyone hard and that includes Best Buy. Best Buy reported on Tuesday its earnings for the third quarter dropped by 77% over the same quarter last year.
Best Buy CEO Brad Anderson has announced that Best Buy will be offering voluntary buyouts to all of its employees. If a sufficient number of buyouts are not taken, they will have to start layoffs.
